We had another great Oktoberfest!  A huge thank you to everyone for their participation.  We don't have the final results in yet, but we will get them soon.

Pam Stockman is a new grandmother! Her grandson, Lucas, was born 9/29/2017. He and mother are both doing well and perfectly healthy.

Invite a friend/co-worker to Rotary!

This is the time of year that all members are needed to ensure that Oktoberfest is another huge success – both in terms of helping our beneficiaries as well as creating an enjoyable evening for all who attend.
We have two very important causes that need our help: 1) one serves on a daily emergency basis and 2) the other helps create long-term solutions to problems that keep people down.
First, St. Mary’s Food Kitchen helps thousands of people throughout the year, serving meals to approximately 350 people each day including children and the homeless.  Second, Growing Futures (formerly Head Start of Shawnee Mission) helps thousands of kids and their families educate themselves out of the cycle of poverty.
Oktoberfest is less than a month away so here’s what you and I need to do:
  • Sell Tickets either on line ( or purchase tickets at our Rotary meeting this Thursday.
  • Promote the event on your social networks or by simply telling all your friends and neighbors.
  • Use your business network to Recruit Sponsors.  Sponsorships represent the biggest profit opportunity for this event.
  • The silent auction also drives profit so Bring Silent Auction Items (value of $50 or more).
  • Take Tickets to Other Clubs, especially a club you have supported in their projects.
  • Introduce Rotary and its work to others. Selling a ticket might be the first step to finding a new member.
  • Come to Rotary meetings!  Your positive presence is a gift to all of us.
