Have you ever heard of Rotaplast? It’s a Rotarian founded, San Francisco based, international medical team. Rotary Clubs partner with Rotaplast to help in special medical projects from repairing cleft palates to helping amputees walk all over the world.
So far there have been 180 missions and 15,403 patients were treated in 23 countries. To date, 250 Rotary clubs have participated in Rotaplast sponsorships. This year is the 20th Anniversary of Rotaplast and many of us in Rotary were not even aware of this aspect of Rotary.
Partnering with other organizations is something that RI has always done. It works with UNESCO, the World Health Organization, Doctors Without Borders, Heart to Heart and Engineers Without Borders to name a few.
Isn’t it amazing what we, in Johnson County, can do through the Rotary Foundation and other clubs and districts. We literally touch people on
almost every continent every day of the year.
