ROTARY MINUTE
Rotary Minute December 8, 2021
“Rotary – It takes a leap of imagination,” a quote by Alex Kotlowitz , author of “There are No Children Here, An American Summer.” Rotary is built on creative people who have always looked for ways to make communities and the world a better place in which to live.
And that is how Rotary has grown, from Paul Harris and his dozen “imaginative” men meeting in a Chicago hotel up to today. A quarter million women and men from more than 200 countries are thinking and creating solutions to world problems.
The “Every Rotarian Every Year” (EREY) began with imagination. If every Rotarian would contribute $100 to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) each year, imagine what we could do in some of the larger project needs. The result is that Rotarians have been doing this for over 25 years. There is another wonderful story of how that money has grown and been used.
At the Rotary Club of Johnson County, we have asked our members to donate at least $50. The club will then match the first $50 dollar for dollar. This will guarantee the $100 per member is sent to TRF. If you desire your EREY donation to count on this year’s taxes, bring it to our next breakfast meeting on December 16.
