Bulletin for January 4, 2018
Summary of December 21 Meeting
Happy Bucks: $ 45.00
As is our annual tradition, Christmas carols and Holiday music were the focus of our last meeting of 2017. Joe Morris made the arrangements again this year and we were delighted to have The Village Musicians perform traditional music of the season. The "sing along" was amazing...we had some outstanding voices in the room!! Much gratitude to the Village Musicans - you can find them on Facebook at
Ray Makalous honored Rob Reiman, of The Giving Grove, with a Paul Harris Fellow and PDG Wes McCoy was on hand to make the presentation.  Ray worked closely with Rob for many years, and felt that Rob's years of service to the under-nourished community deserved recognition.  Earlier this year Past President John Ruo successfully applied for a District Grant so that our Club could help plant trees at the Grove and we will begin that project in the new year. You can read more about The Giving Grove here:

Happy New Year to all of you 1.25 million Rotarians!  I would challenge you other million to be as productive with any 25 of your membership as the Rotary Club of Johnson County is!

As most of you know, especially president Jeff, this is the last six months of the club year and the last third of his special term that he shared with John.  Let’s see if we can be as productive, if not more so, during this last stretch of the Rotary year.
In the first part of the year, we gave books, served head start parents, presented Christmas angels and received our Star Club award for 100% participation in Every Rotarian Every Year.

But we still have not reached our goal of gaining two or three new members for the year. All we each need to do is invite one of our friends or acquaintances to Rotary for a hot breakfast, fellowship and the experience of one of Pam’s good programs.
Let’s keep that Christmas feeling going all through the months of January and February.  It certainly beats the after-holiday-blues.
How about heating up the cold mornings with the fun of Rotary spirit and fellowship?  See you Thursday with a friend!
