Summary of May 3rd Meeting
Thanks to your generosity we collected $15  in 'Happy Bucks' and 'Dollars for the Foundation' last week.  All these contributions benefit the Rotary International Foundation.
Our speaker couldn't make it, so the time was filled with Fellowship and another cup of coffee.

At our last meeting, we discussed and agreed that our club would like to participate in a communitywide significant Rotary project. If anyone has any ideas for such a project, please share them with me. I will be meeting with other presidents on April 2.  Thanks for your input.

When Paul Harris organized his first group of men to meet weekly, he did not randomly approach businessmen; he was very intentional about selecting a cross-section of business and professional people who would represent various population groups in Chicago. After many years, Rotarians who joined would declare that they represented a specific vocation or classification of jobs.
When we joined, most of us assigned a classification (or a job title). We are looking for people representing as many businesses or professions as we can. In the past, our members have included a mayor, a city manager, a county administrator, doctors, police, and dozens of other businesses and professions.
Rotary is looking for community leaders, businessmen/women, and professionals who want to serve their community and help those in need. As the Johnson County Rotary, we could have representatives of the many county departments and services. We should have representatives of most of the jobs found in our neighborhoods and business parks.
When looking for prospects to invite, think of those you do business with; who do you like to work with? Who has the optimistic spirit we see in people who live lives of service? We want people you like and trust and recommend. That’s how we grow the club.
As we close out a good year, let’s see if we can bring in more new members.
We have many professions and businesses not represented. Johnson County is a vital, growing and creative county.
