At our Assembly meeting last week, we discussed ideas for an upcoming service project.  It was decided that our club wants to serve at St. Mary's Food Kitchen.  They have staff serving day on the first Wednesday of each month.  Since we will nor have a meeting on April 30th, it was decided to go to the food kitchen on Wednesday, April 1st.  I will confirm with the food kitchen and let you know.  We also discussed ways to increase our membership at the meeting.  Dave, Larry and I are planning to visit businesses around the Holiday Inn and invite them to speak at an upcoming meeting as a way to introduce them to Rotary.  On another note, we will be having a board meeting this Thursday 2/13.   See you on Thursday.

ROTARY MINUTE

February 3, 2020

President Pam is asking for ideas for projects and fund-raisers for this second half of the Rotary year.  Come bringing your ideas to our Thursday breakfast as we do a club assembly to assess where we are and where we want to go yet this year.  The Chiefs just won a Super Bowl!  Let’s work on a super project that can also affect our community.

Pam would like us to do two more projects that will help people in our KC area, one for each of the next two quarters.  What are things you see that are happening that need work to make life better in the circles you encounter?  Perhaps we could take a day at the Food Kitchen, or help with the Toca Soccer players in the inner-city, or get involved in the Rotary park and trail project,  or plant another Giving Grove orchard, or help with the field/orchard gleaning project.

Is it possible to invent a project that can be carried world-over by Rotary International and win the title of  Biggest Project by a Small Rotary Club?

Let’s think big!  After all,  we just won the Super Bowl.  Think about it.  We are a small team in a small market area with big ideas.   Think like a Champion!    GO ROTARY!!!
