OctoberFest 2018 was an evening of fun, fellowship, and fundraising. A big thanks to Pam Stockman for her leadership in organizing our clubs signature event.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Oktoberfest a success! It was such a fun night. Now the number crunching begins to see how much money we raised for our charities. We will keep you posted on the results.

November is “Foundation Month” for Rotary, a time when we remember and learn about all the aspects of one of the most respected Foundations in the world.  Very few charitable foundations have as high a percentage of donations that actually get used towards service projects.  In the case of Rotary’s Foundation, 90% of the money donated is being put to work.  One of the reasons is that when we give our Every Rotary Every Year contributions, the funds are invested for a period of three years. On the third year, the funds are used in either district grants or global grants.  After accounting for administrative costs and publicity of “EREY” and The Foundation, there is still 90% of the original donations available to do the service projects. Compare this percentage with other funds and you will find The Rotary International Foundation is among the top 5% most efficient charitable foundations in the world. Come to Rotary breakfasts each week in November and you will be amazed at the work that you and I do in our community, in the USA, and throughout the world through our EREY contributions. And, you will also get the benefit of fellowship time with some of the best people in the world,  Johnson County Rotarians.
